Privatisation of the Royal Mail

The real reason the government wants to privatise the Royal Mail is to get its hands on its pension funds. The whole amount will disappear into the government's current account (about £8bn) and then the whole liability (about £16bn) will disappear to be paid by future taxpayers.

Just another example of the massive con the government is playing on us.

  2. have a look at http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/feb/23/royal-mail-pensions

This states that the current deficient is £5.9bn but next year will be significantly higher. And that at present the fund is only funded to 50%.
